Hi, I’m David. For the past 11 years, I’ve helped brands build stronger connections with their customers, online and off.
These days, I’m an Integrated Strategy Director at TBWA\CHIAT\DAY in Los Angeles, leading digital, social, and integrated campaign strategy for Gatorade. Before Chiat, I spent nearly three years next door at our sister agency TBWA\Media Arts Lab shepherding integrated global digital efforts for the Shot on iPhone and Apple masterbrand teams.
I initially arrived on the West Coast after surviving seven years of Midwestern winters in Chicago, where I led teams that built award-winning social presences for brands like Nissan, Subway, and VMware at Zocalo Group, a division of Critical Mass.
I’m unabashedly a numbers guy. I love getting lost in the data and unearthing the tiny, impactful insights others miss. I’m a firm believer that the only way to stay ahead is by constantly questioning (and testing) what you think you know.
But I’m not entirely left-brained. I’m passionate about staying connected to culture and smashing my filter bubbles. From the weird corners of Reddit to Sunday night HBO, I know you have to understand the conversation if you want to make your brand a part of it.
Outside the office, you’ll find me doing a little culinary cultural exploration at your neighborhood Ethiopian/Indonesian/Peruvian restaurant, in the front row of an indie hip-hop show, convincing myself this is finally the year for my Cleveland Browns, or perfecting my pour-over coffee technique on Saturday mornings.
